“Dig Dug”

Nature Imagined.

My pocket sings with quarters sliding against each other as I race into the arcade. An entire city of flashing lights, blast my eyes, as a rhythmic feast of every kind of sound imaginable ruptures my eardrums. Cheese burgers sizzle and colorful candy bins entice, but an adventure awaits. The rush, the smile that extends ear to ear as I reach for the familiar joystick, that magical device that today will take me digging deep under the earth. The color is fading on this plastic ball that fits like a glove in my hand, as the slot begs for more change. The quarter drops, I am once again whisked away on another mythical journey, one coin at a time.
